Attorney Ada Chan – Who am I besides a DC and Maryland Lawyer
So who am? Well I thought I would do a blog about it because sometimes a little blurb in the “about us” section of the website is just is so mechanical. I am now a full time mother and resident of Charles County. I love my community and an avid fitness buff. I love spending time with my family. If I am not in Court I am usually baking or working out at the gym. I do a lot of driving but because I handle a lot of cases in Maryland but I love DC as well. So when my partner, Mark Rollins is busy you will see me hanging around the halls of DC Superior Court too. I have represented people from all walks of life facing a wide range of serious criminal charges. I was born and raised in Hong Kong. I spent my formative years in England and Germany. I attended Oregon State University, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree and received my Juris Doctor from the District of Columbia School of Law. I have been qualified to conduct the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing(NHTSA) taught under the supervision under the supervision of Robert F. La Pier. I have been admitted to practice law in Maryland and D.C. I began my legal career as an immigration attorney in 1996 and handled a variety of cases, including H-1B visas, Labor Certification, Political Asylum, Adjustment of Status, K visas, removal of conditional status, petition for relatives and naturalization petitions. In 1998, I began working with Mark Rollins joined and we eventually formed Rollins and Chan law firm. My primary area of practice is criminal defense, however I handle wide range of other legal issues. I am fluent in Chinese (cantonese) . Lastly, I am a “big texter.” My colleagues joke and say that at the dinner table with husband, I will text him and say “pass the salt.” So if you hire me expect a lot of text and emails. lol.
